Senior Year Planning

 

 

SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

 

·         Attend local college fairs

·         Make appointments with Counselor

·         Sign up for October and November SAT I & SAT II (October for Early Decision)

·         Decide on final list of colleges to apply to

·         Begin filling out applications (watch deadlines)

·         Contact teachers for recommendations

·         Fill out and mail Profile registration for financial aid for private institutions

·         Visit colleges

 

NOVEMBER

 

·         Take SAT I & SAT II (as necessary)

·         Submit transcript requests/application paperwork to Guidance Office (at least TEN SCHOOL DAYS BEFORE DEADLINE)

·         Early decision deadlines may be November 1 or 15

·         Visit colleges

 

DECEMBER

 

·         Take SAT I & SAT II (as necessary)

·         Parents attend Financial Aid Workshop December 7, 2006

·         Recommended to complete application paperwork and mail to colleges before Christmas break

 

JANUARY

 

·         File FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1st

·         Last chance to take SAT I & SAT II for most college deadlines

·         Complete all applications and mail to colleges

 

FEBRUARY THROUGH MAY

 

·         Apply for scholarships through the Guidance Office, and be careful of DEADLINE DATES (do not wait until the last minute, because there might be a snow day, and you could miss a deadline)

·         Receive acceptances from college and make your decision (visit again if necessary)

·         Complete senior year successfully (Final transcript will be sent to the college you accept)
